PARISIENNES AND AGING WELL

PARISIENNES AND AGING WELL

"Age is just a number! "That's what magazines, blogs and coaches tell you... But what can you do when you feel the first signs of ageing, your body getting tired, the first wrinkles setting in on ...?  In the imagination of most Parisian women, aging well is a difficult challenge. The physical state is more important than the mental or moral state when they think of aging.

For 77% of French people, "aging well" is seen as a marketing term, because in reality, we age as best we can. Nevertheless, for 50%, aging well means being in good health, for 44% it means cultivating a certain state of mind, for 28% enjoying life and the present moment, and for 31% being active (activities, travel, sport...). Finally, for 25%, it's above all about having a social life and being surrounded by people.

Clearly, ageing well is above all about ageing in good health, which means medical check-ups and follow-ups, and so on. And then... for the majority of Parisian women surveyed, aging well means knowing how to enjoy the present moment, being happy and fulfilled, anticipating. And paying attention to diet, sleep, exercise, being active...

THE FOOD

Food is our first drug. So it's important to adapt what we eat and drink to who we are, to our constitution, but also to the season, the climate, the time of day...  Our lifestyle and diet are very often a source of imbalance and acidity, or even oxidation in our bodies. Let's limit our consumption of refined products and ready-made meals and return to a simpler, more natural diet. Let's try to give priority to cereals like rice (rather than processed foods like pasta or bread), vegetables and fruit (rather than frozen or canned). It's up to us to choose the right foods to give our bodies as few reasons as possible for premature aging.

For your information... White wine is much more acidifying than red wine, cheese is also acidifying, as are stimulants such as coffee and tea (even green tea)... The Mediterranean diet, where fresh foods are chosen, olive oil is used daily, and vegetables are cooked, is often cited as an example, and rightly so.

SKIN

The best anti-aging care is certainly the attention you give yourself. Every day, whether in the morning or in the evening, give yourself a little time in the bathroom. The first step to a radiant face is undoubtedly to cleanse your skin. Masks to cleanse or regenerate fragile facial skin can remove excess sebum, small impurities or restore radiance to the complexion.

Whatever the case, one golden rule: never go to bed with make-up on! Make sure you remove make-up from the face with a milk and then a lotion, and moisturize the skin well (morning and evening). Facial self-massages are very effective for restoring elasticity, suppleness and radiance to the complexion on a daily basis. You can also use small soft plastic suction cups to smooth and drain the face: on wrinkles, between the eyes and on the forehead, around the mouth, always pulling outwards and ideally behind the ears at the level of the lymph nodes, which will do the work of detoxification.

THE HAIR

With age, hair dries out, breaks, fades, grays, frizzes and falls out. It's time to take care of it! To stimulate growth, limit hair loss, stop dandruff production and make hair shiny and strong, we need to nourish and moisturize it, and cut it if necessary. A good remedy: a coconut oil bath, applied a few hours before washing, or overnight before shampooing. Finally, use natural products to wash them, and wash them only once or twice a week to keep them healthy.

THE BODY

We're not meant to sit in front of our computers for 8 hours a day. So to get back to basics and compensate for the lack of exercise our lives impose on us, we need to get moving, preferring walking or pedaling to the subway, even if only for a few stations, and practicing physical activity for at least 2 to 3 hours a week.  It's worth noting that walks in the open air allow you to reconnect with nature and breathe.

THE SPIRIT

Walks in the countryside, by the sea or in the mountains are a great way to get away from it all and recharge your batteries. Contact with nature, whether through walks, outdoor sports or gardening, is highly beneficial for calming the mind. By eliminating sources of stress and allowing ourselves these moments of rest, we move away from the causes of the body's aging process. Adding a few meditative practices to our daily lives can only be beneficial... This can mean taking guided meditation sessions, practising mindfulness, meditating on your own or with someone else, but it can also mean taking the time to indulge in a pleasant pastime that allows the mind to disconnect, such as taking a long bath, tinkering, gardening.... In any case, take care of yourself and listen to yourself! Connecting with your feelings and desires is one of the best ways to stay in shape for as long as possible.

Cècile - Health & Beauty
Bonjour, my name is Cécile. I grew up in Provence between a grandmother creating perfumes and a naturopath mother. In this healthy and close upbringing, I learned how to listen to nature and discovered that our body is undoubtedly one of the greatest human resources. I’ve been a Parisian since I began my studies as a medical journalist. I discovered another world, fast and stressful but although exciting, where nature is too often absent. I started to divulge to my friends and readers, my secrets of youth or how to take charge of their health in order to get the most out of life.
