HIPANEMA: A FRENCH-STYLE SUCCESS STORY

Created by two Parisians, Hipanema is known above all for its Brazilian bracelets; in a few years, the brand has become indispensable in the world of fashion and accessories.

The Hipanema brand was born from the meeting of two Parisian girls in Rio, Delphine Crech'riou and Jenny Collinet. Inspired by the colors seen during their travels, the two young women decided to bring the Brazilian flavor back home. The concept of Hipanema is very specific: magnetic bracelets inspired by Brazilian lucky charm hoop bracelets, worn in series.

 

In 2012 the Hipanema bracelet was revolutionary: if we liked wearing numerous Brazilian bracelets... having to tie and untie them one by one was tedious! That's how it all came about...  The magnetic clasp is very chic and offers a great alternative to vacation bracelets. "At first, we were categorized as a summer bohemian genre. But Hipanema, as we did, has grown a lot, today it is very enriched," analyzes Jenny Collinet. With Hipanema, Brazilian bracelets transform from a simple vacation keepsake into a true ethnic accessory, for a cheerful touch to our urban attire!

If Hipanema has been seducing ever since it was created thanks to its hippy style and affordable prices, the friends expand their offerings in 2013 with a range of "Amenapih" swimwear. A design that quickly adapted to winter in a cool and casual ready-to-wear line. Their wrap-around skirts and discreetly embroidered fabrics appeal to a broader clientele beyond millennials.

In just a few years, the brand is transformed, becoming a true fashion reference. "We imagine both pants and shirts or jackets, and we work leather, wool, and velvet," Delphine Crech’riou points out.

Then, the opening of a second Parisian boutique, also on the Rive Droite, in the Etienne Marcel neighborhood. "We set up our offices above the retail space, to get closer to our customers and record their return live. We will then be able to adapt our collections according to their desires," continues Delphine Crech'riou.

A marketing approach consistent with the ever-increasing need for many brands to create a community and very strong ties with their members.

It is impossible to talk about Hipanema and not mention Gisele Bündchen. The world's No. 1 model began her collaboration with the brand in 2002 for 10 years. Varied have been the collections with one focus: eco sustainability!
